Our Philosophy: 

We believe that as important as classroom time is to build the basic knowledge required for any format of instruction, the “hands on” portion is always the piece that you will revert back to in a time of need. For example: If our instruction for any course we offer is 6 to 8 hours in a classroom and 30 rounds of ammunition down range, what do you think your “muscle memory” will be when you need it.

After our instruction you will be able to handle yourself with knowledge, confidence and the ability to assess the situation safely and with the best outcome possible. It is not our goal to teach you the “kill” but rather the skill set to know the difference between that and self defense and how to avoid a bad situation.

Our class time will provide more than enough information to guide you in virtually any situation regarding laws that govern you and your safety.

Our range time will be the bread and butter of our operation.

• Basic Handgun/ CCW: This class will start as if you have never handled a firearm before and take you through 8 hours of firearms training that will deliver the knowledge that you need to safely, accurately and confidently utilize a handgun. We will do this through several basic drills and fundamentals. We will end the class just touching on the intermediate skill set.
• Intermediate Handgun: This Class will start just where the basic class left off and then take you through more precise skill sets that apply to urban situations.

As with any of our classes we need to know that you are proficient and knowledgeable with your handgun(s).   

Because we live and work in this community it is imperative that you take with you the knowledge needed to safely defuse a situation; a situation that my neighbor, friend or child may need your help with.

Along with a CCW certification you will walk away with:

~Handgun safety and handling

~Firearms parts and operation

~Basic shooting fundamentals and marksmanship skills

~The opportunity to develop them at the range through various shooting skills

~How to maintain and clean your handgun

~Choosing the right handgun for you

~Skill-building practice drills

~Concealed carry basics

~Self-defense, deadly force and the law

We offer a course of study that can be enjoyed by the first day firearms handler and yet not bore a seasoned weapons veteran. 

We assure you that no matter what your level of expertise is you will walk away from this class with an increased level of knowledge, confidence and a true passion for Concealed Defense. 

Scott Catron and Bradd Davidson your the best. Thanks for the training. Your the best firearms trainers in Northern Nevada. My first training 5 years ago does not compare to the professionalism and near perfect training I received from your course.

where near what Concealed Defense taught me.

You guys were head and shoulders above my first experience. So much so, that even though I carried a CCW, I rarely carried my weapon. After going through your class and being taught the correct way, I am more confident in my abilities to carry and ultimately defend myself and others should it arise.

                OUR GOAL:

To teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe and proper use of a concealed handgun and to provide information on the citizen's right of self-defense.  Successful completion of this 10 hour course satisfies the states training requirements for obtaining a license to carry a concealed weapon.

Thanks for the CCW course this weekend...

I definitely improved my shooting. God willing, I will never have to defend myself with a firearm, but if it comes down to that, I feel much better prepared to do so.

I took my CCW class last week with Concealed Defense.
 I had been referred to them by another member here on the boards. I just wanted to say I had a lot of fun and I also learned a lot. There were about 15 of us that day and everyone had a partner except for me. I was the odd man out, but I was paired up with Scott the co-instructor. This ended up being to my benefit as he and Bradd, main instructor, corrected some of my self taught faults and were very patient with me. If anyone happens to need a class in the Reno area, I would recommend them without hesitation.                               ~Jon Kuhry
